The research team of Kentucky Transportation Research Center developed a composite material applied to bridge repair, focusing on improving the innovative mechanical material product, named catstrong crp-x3. The product can be used in turn as spare parts, which is composed of carbon fiber reinforced polymer rod plate (CRP) and epoxy resin matrix, and is bonded to the prestressed concrete bridge with structural defects in the form of panel. Using crp-x3 catstrong can greatly reduce the maintenance cost of the bridge
